How Much Does It Cost to Rent a Boom Truck?
Aerial lifts are a must-have for workers who need to scale to heights on a daily basis. And when it comes to renting a boom truck—whether for a one-time project or on an ongoing basis—there are various factors that will affect the price. Here are all the factors that contribute to the final cost of a boom truck rental.
How Long Will You Need the Rental?
Of course, time is a major factor in boom lift rental rates. Kardie Equipment offers a unique advantage over other construction equipment suppliers: our flexibility with rentals is unmatched. We offer Bronto Skylifts to suit the schedules of any team or company, whether for a one-time project or even a multiple months or year-long job. We’re here to make your job safer, and easier, too. That’s why we’ll always work to adapt to your schedule and even offer lease, rent-to-purchase, and long-term rental rates.
Do You Need an Operator?
We can provide ours, two per truck are always dispatched with each rental. If you’re planning to operate the AWP yourself, you’ll need to be qualified first. Here at Kardie Equipment, we offer two popular training courses to make sure you’re controlling the truck safely: Flight Training (basket controls), and Operator Training. Operator Training (the most comprehensive) is free with the purchase of a new truck, but rental customers will need to pay per student for these courses in order to rent our Brontos bare (without Kardie trained operators).
Your options for operating the truck include:
- Rent the unit totally bare. The majority of Kardie rentals are operated rentals, which means we rent them out along with two certified Bronto Skylift operators—one who remains on the ground for safety, and one who remains in the basket to operate. However, if you’d prefer to rent only the boom truck—and no personnel—both the ground operator and flight operator will need certification from Kardie. Certification lasts a year and therefore must be re-certified annually.
- Invest in flight and operator training. If you’re looking to save on labor expenses, you can have members of your team go through a two-day flight training course. That way, you’ll only need one Kardie professional on the ground for safety, rather than one on the ground and one in the basket. This is an especially smart choice if you plan to use the boom truck on an ongoing basis or for a long-term project.
What Type of Lift Do You Need?
The type of boom truck you use will also affect your boom lift rental price. Each one of our Bronto Skylifts has been specifically built to meet all North American DOT regulations, ANSI standards, and OSHA requirements. But of course, one size does not fit all, which is why Kardie offers five different models of Bronto Skylift boom trucks in our rental fleet.
